Adelaide Racing Carnival 2021
The Adelaide Racing Carnival takes place at Morphettville racecourse each year from March through to May and is highlighted by four Group 1 races, with the feature event being the Goodwood sprint on the final day of the carnival in May.
The South Australia Jockey Club administers racing in Adelaide and the first major race of the autumn is the Group 2 Adelaide Cup on the Monday of the Labour day weekend in March.
The major Adelaide racing carnival takes place over three consecutive Saturdays in May with the first group one races being the Australasian Oaks for 3yo fillies and the Robert Sangster Stakes for fillies & mares on the first day of the three-day carnival.
On the following Saturday the best local three-year-old stayers assemble for the Group 1 South Australian Derby, which is the feature race of the day on the second day.
The major race of the Adelaide autumn carnival is the Group 1 Goodwood for sprinters, and takes place on the final day of the Adelaide racing carnival in May.
