The Eskimo Prince Stakes is a Group 3 race for three-year-olds that takes place in February each year at Warwick Farm racecourse in Sydney, New South Wales. The Eskimo Prince Stakes is a handicap race for three-year-olds over the sprint trip of 1200m that tends to attract more hand handy types on their way to the better autumn races ahead.
In recent times the Eskimo Prince Stakes has proven an excellent guide to multiple group race winners around the country.
Dissident (2nd in 2014) travelled to Melbourne to run third in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude (C) at Caulfield before graduating to Group 1 winner as a four-year-old the following spring, while Romantic Touch (3rd in 2014) headed to Queensland for the winter to capture the Group 1 The TJ Smith at Eagle Farm.
The previous year Ichihara (2013) ran second in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick and Limes (3rd in 2013) went on to win the Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas at Hawkesbury.
Prior to that, Nobby Snip (2012) finished runner-up in the Group 1 The Galaxy at Randwick, Niagara (2nd in 2012) claimed the Group 2 Ajax Stakes at Rosehill, while Aerobatics (3rd in 2012) ran second in the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes at Randwick.
