The Millie Fox Stakes is a Group 2 quality handicap race for fillies and mares that takes place each year in late February at Rosehill racecourse in Sydney, New South Wales. The race is run over a distance of 1300 metres under set weights & penalty conditions and has prize money of $200,000. The 2020 Millie Fox Stakes was won by Savatiano from White Moss with Invincible Gem third.
Held on Group 2 Hobartville Stakes day, the Millie Fox Stakes was upgraded to Group 2 status for the 2013/2014 racing season.

The Millie Fox Stakes is a nice little race for fillies and mares only that generally attracts the better class females going around. The Group 2 Breeders Classic held earlier in the carnival at the same track is generally a good guide to this race as it is raced under the same weighted conditions, but for mares only. In Her Time (2017) and Catkins (2015) are the most recent winners of the Breeders Classic & Millie Fox Stakes double, while Red Tracer (2013) ran second in the Breeders Classic before winning this race at her next start.
Fillies & mares contesting this event will most likely have their eye on the premier race for females during the autumn, the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes in April. Neroli (2009) was the most recent galloper to take out the Millie Fox Stakes & Queen Of The Turf Stakes double in the same year, while Red Tracer (2013) managed to finish second in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes after victory in the Millie Fox Stakes.
The Group 1 Coolmore Stud Classic held the following month at Rosehill may also be on the radar for those better females up to the challenge, while a race like the Group 3 Wenona Girl Handicap at Randwick may suit some of the lesser lights. Daysee Doom (2018) is the last galloper to clain the Millie Fox Stakes and Coolmore Stud Classic double.
Smart mare Red Tracer won this race in three consective years in 2012, 2013 and 2014, while Montana Flyer won it in successive years in 2010 and 2011. A Time For Julia (2nd in 2014) took out the Wenona Girl Handicap at her next start after finishing second in the Millie Fox Stakes.
Savatiano (2020) resumed from a spell to win this event in easy style for the James Cummings stable.
