Breeders Classic
The Breeders Classic is a Group 2 race that takes place in February each year at Randwick racecourse in Sydney, New South Wales during the Sydney autumn racing carnival. The race is run over a distance of 1200 metres under set weights & penalty conditions and worth $500,000 in prize money. The 2019 Breeders Classic was won by Champagne Cuddles from Cool Passion with Alassio third.
This mares only event is held on the same day as the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes and is the first group race of the year for mares in the Sydney metropolitan area.
The 2019 Breeders Classic will take place at Warwick Farm racecourse instead of Randwick.

The Breeders Classic is a nice group race for mares and the set weight & penalty conditions favour the better peformed gallopers. The 1200m distance suits solid sprinting mares or classy females who may be returning from a spell.

Choice Words (3rd in 2013) won the Group 3 Wenona Girl Handicap at her next start.
Prompt Response (2018) resumed from a spell to win this event in classy style and recent Breeders Classic winners include In Her Time (2017) and Amicus (2016)..
