The Blue Diamond Prelude Fillies is an 1100 race for two-year-old fillies only and held during the Melbourne autumn racing carnival. It provides the ideal lead-up event for any fillies considered good enough to tackle the males in the upcoming Blue Diamond Stakes at the same track in two week's time. In recent times. Lyre (2019), Catchy (2017), Earthquake (2014) and Alinghi (2004) all captured the Blue Diamond Stakes after winning this race.
Outstanding fillies Guelph (2013), Samaready (2012), Rostova (2009), Alinghi (2004), Halibery (2003) and Courtza (1999) have all won this event and the level weights playing field provides a clear advantage to the better fillies engaged.
Letzbeglam (2020) won a 2YF Maiden race over 1100m at Werribee before heading to town to win this event in classy style for Cranbourne training duo Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young.
