The Belle Of The Turf Stakes is a Group 3 fillies & mares quality handicap race held in December at Gosford racecourse in Gosford, New South Wales. The race is run over a distance of 1600 metres and worth $150,000 in prize money. The 2019 Belle Of The Turf Stakes was won by Tinkermosa from Statuesquely with Saas Fee third.
Previously a listed spring race, the Belle Of The Turf Stakes was upgraded to Group 3 status for the 2013/2014 racing season and now runs in late December during the recently formed Central Coast Carnival.
The Gosford Race Club announced a new racing initiative for the 2017-18 racing season, the Central Coast Carnival. It replaced the previous 'Summer Series' and offered around $1.4 million in prize money. The series commenced on Belle of the Turf Stakes Day in December and finishes on Gosford Gold Cup Day in mid January.
The Belle Of The Turf Stakes was held twice in 2017 after being moved from January to December as part of the Central Coast Carnival.

The Belle Of The Turf Stakes is a more than handy provincial race for fillies & mares only that tends to attract average gallopers to Gosford for a crack at the black type status on offer.
City stables may find the prize money and Group 3 status an attractive proposition for a country feature race and may target their city class fillies or mares for this event, especially as a 'black type' victory would be an added bonus as far as future breeding is concerned.
Smart galloper Pecan (2017 Dec) went on to win the Group 3 Hawkesbury Crown at Hawkesbury the following April after taking out this race.
Tinkermosa (2019) finished unplaced in a Fillies & Mares BM78 over 1350m at Rosehill before scoring a narrow victory in this event for trainer John Sargent.
